Living the dream, once again. Or is it just a fantasy? As I had left Paris behind with a broken heart, a mind full of forever lasting memories and a handful of new precious friendships I questioned my decision to leave. Was I leaving my endless happiness behind? Was it just the idea of comfort taking me back to Amsterdam? Or was this the way it should be?

I thought a return to Paris would clear up my confusion, and so it did. 

As I walked the streets of my once-pinch-me-please-territory I found it hard to pinpoint the emotions of my experience. J'étais pas une touriste, pas une Parisienne… So what would I call myself then? Though nothing had really changed - still head over heels with the city, the ambience and the life - something felt off. 

Caution, things might get really mushy from this point. 

Thanks to the turbulent year that had passed, situations showed me the power of love, friendship, gratitude and family (yes, here I go again). All things that weren't awaiting me in Paris (most friends had left back to their country after finishing school) and even though this city could put a smile on my face no matter the time, it is no reason to stay. My life, as it is in Amsterdam, surrounded by my friends everyday, is all I wish for in this period of my life. One day I will move to Paris, but not anytime soon. Can't wait to go back though...
