Closing off my first foreign fashion week our Dutch rising talent, Iris van Herpen presented her entire Couture collection (including 4 new pieces). With the great reviews of her show last week during Paris Fashion Week, I knew I was up for something big. The show was a compilation of many innovative & futuristic materials and designs. Structure was key to this very unique Couture design collection. A color palette of sober and metallic all in combination with different structures and shapes. Not only an edgy minimalistic beat supported the show but also the clapping hands of many enthusiastic viewers. Without a doubt in my mind I can say this young girl has a talent that I haven't seen much. She easily sets herself apart from other Couture designers begin futuristic, other than nostalgic. I'm proud as a Dutch fashion addict to have Iris representing our country in Berlin's and Paris' fashion and art world.
