SUNNIES. CUTLER & GROSS.
ESPADRILLES. SOUVENIR FROM CINQUE TERRE.
Having exhibited my every outfit online, some might say I have a certain style. Where some say I only wear dark colors and others claim that I am Scandinavian street, I find it hard to pinpoint my signature.
As I have stated before, my looks depend on the weather. If I'd make an overview of my winter outfits, dark hues would overrule and in summer that is denim and whites. Ok ok, denim any day of the year.
But as I started unpacking my suitcase in Italy, my boy immediately declared his astonishment. Beaded, embroidered and colorful dresses gently filled up the space of my part of the wardrobe and the hippie-look made its grand entrance. "This is not Liza" he continued.
Since I had pulled these dresses from my perfect-for-the-beach cupboard I already knew this wasn't expected. Being the I-overthink-everything girl that I am, I reflected upon my taste and questioned my cheerful beach look (while writing this I'm overlooking a turquoise bay with many other questionable beach looks. Read: red speedo's).
I guess the swap in style is what we consider to be the ultimate holiday spirit. Forgetting all rules, obligations, necessities and priorities, here I can unravel and focus on nothing. Forgetting about what matches with what and what compliments my thighs and what doesn't. Easy, fun and light: my ultimate holiday spirit.
P.S. all pictures above are made in wonderful Florence.
