Makeup, a mask of secrets or the liberation of identity? The strong impact on ones spirit a little makeup can make is the mysterious power of cosmetics. If feeling down, tired or just plain ugly it is your beautycase that can change your state of mind.
Though I mostly leave the house with a natural and simple look, I have decided to share my favorite polished and classy face for whatever party there is to attend (first photo).
The look is all mainly build up around the eyes and the lips, both the most interesting and striking facial features one owns. With traditional and classic components I try to create a look with mainly dark details that are strong, yet very simple to establish.
Oh and yes, I am really bad at doing precise things with my hands, so take it all very easy and laid-back. Being precise is not, I repeat, nót the essence of this tutorial!

Apply skin foundation (will elaborate on that some other time).

Draw a line with your eyeliner across the upper lid of your lashline on your relaxed eyelid. Repeat this move 3 times to give your eye a very dark and bold look (you can even try and make the line thicker). Than draw a line across your bottom lid of your bottom lashline. This may be done casually, so that the eyeliner also hits the skin in-between your bottom lashes. After, you smudge the lines with a subtle brush (I always use the 'all over shadow small' brush by Sephora) above and under the lashline, this gives it a more "rebellious" touch. Finish the eyes with some dramatic mascara or two (if you apply two different, your effect will be more dramatic, due to the two different substances).

So, again, I am really bad at precise things with my hands. Or maybe I just don't have the patience for it. Exactly the reason why I apply my lipstick with a brush in order to create the perfect outlined lips, instead of directly with the stick. Start off with the outlines, and than fill it up. If the lipstick does not turn as dark as you want it to be with the brush, gently apply the lipstick on your lips and push your lips together. Or, buy a darker toned lipliner and start the lips off with coloring them in and than apply the lipstick after.
As you can see I have only used 3 products to create these eyes and lips. Sometimes, when really in the mood for a unforgettable night, more products come in hand (see my favorites picture 2). I'll show this another time !
